Buck Gilliam (Memorial for a very
special 'Friend of James Rogers')
*****
I'm sure many of us remember Buck
Gilliam.
We could always count on Buck to be there, selling tapes, photos, and
other merchandise, running the videos, and helping set up and take down
sets,
for James' shows at Dollywood, and many other places that they
traveled to.
He was a very friendly, likable man...a 'one of a kind' type man...and
one we will never forgotten.
It was from Buck, that I first heard the phrase, "This [James Rogers
Show] is the best show on the park!"
And he meant it too! He was convincing enough, that we (my family
and I) decided to try this 'James Rogers Show'.
After that first time we saw James perform, we totally agreed with Buck,
and became great friends with him, his family, and with James Rogers.
Buck and his wife, Vonda were very gracious hosts, and invited us into
their home on many occasions.
They became our family, and their home...became our...'home away from
home'.
Those were very special and happy
times.
Sunday, Feb. 27th, 2011, marks the
14th year since Buck left this life...
.. and I thought it would be a good time to add this page...dedicated
to his memory.

We miss you, Buck.

One of James' older tapes, has Buck on the cover.

And one of our FONDEST memories:
Just got this one today...July 3, 2020. Buck would have been 81 yesterday,
had he lived.
Some of you will remember James' line about "Buck riding in on
a moped"...I'll do my best to find it and make a sound clip.

If you have any special memories or
photos of Buck that you'd like to share with us, please send them in
